Terms of service

Last updated: July 9, 2026 · These terms cover mamal.shop and the Mamal early-access program.

1. What Mamal is right now

Mamal is a restaurant platform in early access. That means it’s real software running real restaurants, and it’s also actively under construction. Some capabilities — noted on the site — are still in development. By joining early access you’re choosing to build alongside us, and we’re choosing to be straight with you about what works today.

2. The early-access deal

• Software is free during early access. Card processing, where enabled, is charged at the published rate on the pricing page.
• There is no contract and no term. You can stop using Mamal at any time, and we can end the early-access program with reasonable notice.
• Before we start charging for software, we’ll tell you clearly and you decide whether to continue. No silent conversions to paid.

3. Your data is yours

Your menus, sales history, guests, and settings belong to you. You can export them at any time, free, in standard formats. If you leave, we’ll retain your data for a reasonable wind-down period so you can finish exporting, then delete it on request. See the privacy policy for details.

4. Your responsibilities

• Use Mamal lawfully — including tax, labor, and consumer-protection rules that apply to your restaurant.
• Keep your account credentials safe and give staff access through their own logins and roles, not shared passwords.
• Don’t abuse the service: no attempting to break, probe, or overload it, and no using it to send spam.

5. Payments

Card payments are processed by our payment partners. Processing is subject to the partner’s merchant agreement and applicable card-network rules, in addition to these terms. The rate you pay is the one published on the pricing page.

6. The honest disclaimer

Early-access software changes fast. Mamal is provided “as is” during early access: we work hard to keep it reliable and your data safe, but we can’t promise uninterrupted service or a bug-free experience, and we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Where liability can’t be excluded, it’s capped at the amount you paid us for the service in the previous twelve months.

7. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll post the new version here with a new date and let early-access participants know directly. Continuing to use Mamal after a change means you accept it.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Mamal is organized. If a dispute can’t be sorted out by talking — which is always our first preference — it belongs in the courts of that state.
